The Rhubarb Project
Sanctuaries cannot meet the overwhelming need for rescue alone. Through the Rhubarb Project, Wildlings Forest works to help carefully selected rescued farmed animals find safe, loving homes when adoption is in their best interest.
The project is named in honor of Rhubarb, one of nearly 100 pigs rescued from a hoarding and neglect case. After facing euthanasia without placement, Rhubarb was given another chance through the combined efforts of rescuers, foster caregivers, and Wildlings Forest. Today, he has a lifelong home, companionship, and the care he deserves.
Prospective adopters must be prepared to provide appropriate housing, companionship, veterinary care, enrichment, and a lifelong commitment. Animals adopted through the Rhubarb Project may never be bred, sold, auctioned, exploited, or used for food.
By helping rescued farmed animals find qualified homes, we can make room for sanctuaries to assist more animals in crisis while giving families the opportunity to know these intelligent, emotional individuals as companions.
